TRAINING BAND

Maltby Miners Welfare Band was formed in 1911 and has continued to entertain and serve our local communities, often through very changing and challenging times. Like many brass bands, finding and retaining sufficient players has been one of those challenges.  In 2021, the current training band was established using a different approach, no longer focusing solely on juniors, but aiming to teach and develop any individual of any age. As well as youngsters, we now also have parents and children learning together in family groups, in addition to adult learners of varying abilities all playing a full range of brass and percussion.

The training band appears regularly alongside the main band, and have performed in several stand alone concerts with great success.

Rehearsals are held in our band rooms on a Saturday morning from 10am to 11:30am, led by our conductor Terry Clifford.
